July through November 2023
Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Serbia, North Macedonia, Greece, Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, East Timor, Australia.
The route
The Amsterdam Sydney Challenge consists of three parts. Part one takes you from Amsterdam to Muscat in Oman. We drive through the Balkans, Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
Part two starts three weeks later, in Mumbai, India. We drive across this chaotic country, to Nepal, China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia.
The third part forms the final piece. Via the entire Indonesian Archipelago to Australia with Sydney as the finish location.
Part One
At the beginning of July 2023, we are at the start of our greatest adventure ever. A world trip from Amsterdam to Sydney with your own car. This Challenge consists of a triptych. During part one, we drive through the Balkans, Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
We look for the very best that these countries have to offer. At the beginning of August we finish in the capital of Oman, Muscat.
Part two
Three weeks later we are at the start of part two. From Mumbai in India, we drive across this chaotic country, to Nepal, China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia.
During this part we will of course visit various highlights of Asia. Kuala Lumpur is the finish line of part two of the Amsterdam Sydney Challenge.
part three
Part three is the final piece of the Amsterdam Sydney Challenge. We start in Borneo and drive through Java toward Bali. Of course we will visit Jakarta and various highlights.
From Bali, we take numerous ferries that take us further and further east. Finally we arrive in East Timor. From here we sail to Darwin in Australia.
The last week we drive through Northern Australia towards our real finish place. The Opera House in Sydney. We toast to achieving the longest Challenge ever. The icing on the cake, of course, is the Kiwi Challenge, our adventure in New Zealand.
